Cashier's House: Mourning the Loss of President Lincoln

Erie, PA  April 2005

Living history at the Cashier's House on State Street in Erie, marking the anniversary of President Lincoln's assassination.

Displays of mourning during the Civil War took place throughout the day.

               

 

 

 

2005 Erie County Historical Society Awards Banquet

- Receiving the 2005 Education Award -

Marketplace Grill: Erie, PA

The 145th PVI in attendance at the Erie County Historical Society's 2005 Awards Banquet held at

the Marketplace Grill on State Street in downtown Erie.  The 145th PVI Company D was the winner of the 2005 Education Award, for

our continued education on military and civilian life in the 1860's.

John Brown Tannery

New Richmond, PA

Living history with the 150th PVI "Bucktails" Company C and Cushing's/Taylor's Battery.  Held at the location of one of the homes and tannery owned

by John Brown prior to the Civil War.

                                                                                                                   

 

 

 

Burton, OHio - Century Village

Annual Civil War reenactment held in Century Village in Burton, OH.  This year we fell in with the 145th PVI Company A.  Saturday rained a little bit, but Sunday was beautiful.  A great time was had by all that attended the event.  This year we seriously outnumbered the Confederate forces!

                                                                               

 

 

 

Meadville, PA Memorial Day Parade

Memorial

Memorial Day Parade in Meadville, PA with the 150th PVI "Bucktails" Company C.  This year, we unveiled our new National Flag.  The original flag carried by the 145th PVI was last carried in the Memorial Day Parades after the Civil War.  It is only fitting and proper that our new reproduction National Flag, is first carried by our Sergeant, Kyle Windahl in a Memorial Day Parade.

                                                                           

 

 

 

Joseph Kirkwood Civil War Day at Hornby School

This year, the Hornby School Living History was renamed in memory of Joe Kirkwood of Cushing's/Taylor's Battery who passed away in 2004.  Cushing's/Taylor's Battery was presented with a new guidon in honor of Joe Kirkwood.  The living history this year was attended by members of the 145th PVI Co. D & Cushing's/Taylor's Battery.

               

 

 

 

Civil War Flag Presentation

Presentation held at the Blasco Memorial Library's H. O. Hirt Auditorium in downtown Erie on Saturday, June 11th, 2005.  A reproduction of the original National Flag of the 145th PVI was  presented to the company by 3 ladies of the unit.

                                                               

 

 

Old Bedford Village

Annual Old Bedford Village Civil War Reenactment held in Bedford, PA.  The 145th PVI Company D worked with Cushings'/Taylors' Battery this year providing support for the Union artillery line.  Also visit Cushing's/Taylor's Battery website for more pictures of this year's event.

Gettysburg

We were joined by the 150th PVI as well as a small contingency of members from other units.  1 battle was held on Friday, 2 on Saturday, and Pickett's Charge on Sunday.

Mumford, NY

Annual reenactment at Genesee Country Village and Museum in Mumford, NY.  We joined up with the 155th NY and definitely got into some heavy engagements.  A great time was had by all the attended.

Pymatuning State Park Living History

Jamestown, PA

Living History for Pymatuning State Park's Pioneer Festival.  The event was attended on Saturday by over 4000 people.  We were joined by the 150th PVI "Bucktails" and Cushings'/Taylors' Battery.
